Premium Foam Materials
Discover our comprehensive range of high-performance foam materials
engineered for diverse industrial applications.
Discover Our Materials
HLJ Foam manufactures foam materials for products where performance actually matters to people’s lives. We produce certified polyurethane foam, high-density options, and medical-grade materials that go into everything from mattresses and pillows to healthcare equipment and mission-critical industrial applications.
Quality control isn’t negotiable here. When your foam ends up in someone’s bed, a hospital setting, or equipment that can’t fail, “close enough” doesn’t work. We maintain tight specifications because these products directly affect how well people sleep, patient safety in medical environments, and whether critical operations run smoothly or break down.
PE Polyethylene
Closed-cell, resilient, and built for the long haul. PE Polyethylene is one of the most reliable protective foam materials available, resistant to moisture, chemicals and compression, with a consistent density that holds up through repeated use and demanding environments.
Key Features
- Closed-cell structure for superior moisture and chemical resistance
- Excellent cushioning and impact absorption across a wide range of densities
- Lightweight without sacrificing protective performance
- Suitable for custom fabrication including die-cutting, CNC routing and laminating
PU Polyurethane (Polyether)
Open-cell and exceptionally versatile, Polyether PU foam is the material behind some of the most comfortable and widely trusted foam products on the market. Soft, breathable and resilient, it performs consistently across applications that demand both comfort and durability.
Key Features
- Open-cell construction for breathability and consistent compression recovery
- High resilience across a broad range of densities and ILD ratings
- Resistant to hydrolysis, making it well suited for humid environments
- Compatible with a wide range of fabrication processes and finishing options
PU Polyurethane (Polyester)
Where strength and wear resistance matter most, Polyester PU foam delivers. Denser and firmer than its Polyether counterpart, this material is engineered for applications that require long-term structural integrity and resistance to the kind of mechanical stress that softer foams simply cannot handle.
Key Features
- Superior tensile strength and tear resistance compared to Polyether variants
- Excellent durability under repeated mechanical stress and abrasion
- Highly compatible with solvent-based adhesives and lamination processes
- Available in a wide range of densities for both firm support and moderate cushioning applications
EPE Expanded Polyethylene
Lightweight, shock-absorbent and endlessly adaptable, EPE is the protective packaging material that shows up everywhere for good reason. Its fine closed-cell structure provides reliable cushioning for fragile goods without adding unnecessary weight, a balance that matters when products move through complex supply chains.
Key Features
- Fine closed-cell structure for consistent, reliable shock absorption
- Extremely lightweight relative to its protective performance
- Resistant to moisture, mold and most common chemicals
- Easily fabricated into custom shapes, profiles and interleaving sheets
XLPE / CLPE Crosslinked Polyethylene
Crosslinked Polyethylene takes the inherent strengths of standard PE and pushes them further. The crosslinking process produces a finer, more uniform cell structure — resulting in a smoother surface, higher strength and performance characteristics that standard PE simply cannot match in demanding applications.
Key Features
- Fine, uniform closed-cell structure for superior surface finish and consistency
- Higher strength and durability compared to non-crosslinked polyethylene
- Excellent thermal insulation and vibration dampening properties
- Resistant to UV, ozone, chemicals and wide temperature ranges
PE Roll Foam
Not every application needs a rigid insert or a precision-cut component. PE Roll Foam is the flexible, continuous-format solution for wrapping, interleaving and surface protection — an essential material for high-volume packaging operations that need reliable protection without the complexity of custom fabrication.
Key Features
- Available in a wide range of thicknesses, widths and densities
- Excellent surface protection against scratches, scuffs and minor impacts
- Flexible format supports high-volume wrapping and interleaving applications
- Easily converted into custom widths and lengths for specific production requirements
Corrugated Plastic (Coroplast)
Durable, reusable and surprisingly versatile, Corrugated Plastic brings the structural logic of corrugated board to applications that need something tougher and longer-lasting. Lightweight enough to keep shipping costs in check, rigid enough to protect what matters — it is the material that earns its place in returnable packaging systems and demanding industrial environments.
Key Features
- Waterproof and resistant to most chemicals and solvents
- Lightweight yet structurally rigid, with excellent load-bearing capacity
- Fully reusable and recyclable, supporting sustainable packaging programs
- Available in multiple colors, thicknesses and custom fabricated configurations
Corrugated Paper
The foundational material of protective packaging, done right. Corrugated Paper remains one of the most cost-effective and widely trusted solutions for cushioning, void fill and structural support, and in the hands of an experienced fabricator, it performs well beyond its modest appearance.
Key Features
- Excellent cushioning and structural support for a wide range of product weights
- Lightweight and cost-effective for high-volume packaging applications
- Fully recyclable and compatible with sustainable packaging commitments
- Available in single, double and triple-wall configurations for varied protection levels
Plastic Totes and Bins
Some packaging needs to do more than protect a product once. It needs to do it reliably, hundreds of times over. Plastic Totes and Bins are the backbone of returnable packaging systems, warehouse organization and parts handling operations where durability and consistency are non-negotiable.
Key Features
- Heavy-duty construction for long-term use in demanding industrial environments
- Stackable and nestable configurations for efficient storage and transport
- Compatible with foam inserts and custom interior configurations for secure part holding
- Available in a range of sizes and load capacities to suit varied operational requirements
Antistatic Foams — PE, PU and PE Roll Foam
For applications where electrostatic discharge is not just a nuisance but a genuine risk, standard foam is not enough. HLJ’s Antistatic Foam range — available in PE, PU and Roll Foam formats — provides the same reliable cushioning and protection as standard variants, with the addition of controlled static dissipation that sensitive components demand.
Key Features
- Controlled surface resistivity to safely dissipate electrostatic charge
- Available in PE, PU and Roll Foam formats to suit a wide range of packaging applications
- Meets industry standards for ESD-sensitive component packaging
- Compatible with custom fabrication including die-cutting, profiling and laminating for precision insert production

- Individual cluster architecture maximizes airflow and breathability to eliminate heat traps
- Provides fluid, adaptive contouring that maps perfectly to weight shifts and posture changes
Material Selection & Customization
Choosing the right foam means knowing what you’re actually trying to solve, and that’s where conversations with HLJ Foam start. Not with a catalog, but with questions about how the foam will be used, what conditions it needs to handle, and what matters most for your application. We work with polyurethane foam, high-density foam options, and medical grade foam materials, all customizable by density, firmness, shape, and performance characteristics. Need CertiPUR-US® certified foam for consumer products? Fire-retardant materials for industrial safety? Foam that maintains specific properties across temperature extremes? Our team helps figure out exactly what you need, then engineers it to match, using advanced equipment, proprietary pouring, and decades of fabrication expertise.
